About my F-150
This is my "new-to-me" truck. I previously told you to read my myspace blog to undersdtand why I wanted this particular truck, but I forgot my myspace was set to private, so I copied and pasted the blog for you all to read. Just read this, then if you still want to, you can tell me how ugly it is.
My brother Ronny died in 1979 from a tumor in his brain that turned into cancer. I remember very little about Ronny, but some of the things I do remember, I remember them like they were like they were yesterday. I remember he was a Georgia Bulldog fan to the bone, and so much of a FORD fan that his blood was blue. I remember one night going to Piedmont Hospital with my Dad to see Ronny. He was awake in his bed with his UGA cap on watching TV, and I got in the bed beside him. I remember giving him a small stuffed bulldog we got in the hospital gift shop, and him holding it in one hand while holding me under his other arm. That old FORD truck commercial (which was new at the time) came on. It's the one with the blue 1979 4X4 FORD F150 climbing a mountain of cinder blocks with a Dodge Ram sitting on the bed of the F150. Ronny said, "That's what I'm going to get when I get better". Well, Ronny never got better, and I've been looking for a 1979 FORD F150 since I've been old enough to buy one. I finally found one that wasn't outrageously priced, or in need of too much work for me to do myself. Sure, it's not the prettiest thing on the road, but give me time and I'll get it looking good. Hopefully, you'll agree, FORD fan or not! I'll put up some pictures as I go along. I hope to make Ronny proud.
